Daniel and his wife, Samara, a data scientist, moved from Chicago to Maplewood four years ago to be closer to family and raise their two children, Rose and Teddy. Both attend Marshall Elementary, where Dan has seen firsthand the dedication of teachers, administrators, and staff who have supported his family through the 504 and IEP process.

Professionally, Daniel is a Director of Quality Engineering, specializing in FDA compliance, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. He holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and brings more than a decade of experience in research, development, and audit management.

In Maplewood, Daniel serves on the Marshall PTA, is active at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, and volunteers with Maplewoodstock. In his free time, he enjoys playing softball, catching local college basketball games, and biking with his family in the South Mountain Reservation.

Daniel is running for the Board of Education because he believes deeply in putting students first and building on the progress our current BOE and community has made. With his children in the schools for the next decade, he is committed to strengthening academics, supporting educators, and addressing financial challenges responsibly. Guided by the vision of Progress, Partnership, Promise, he will bring steady leadership, transparency, and collaboration to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.
