Ashley donahue

Ashley is a Clinton Elementary parent, PTA leader, and Department of Defense attorney. A former member of the Budget Advisory Committee, she is committed to transparency, equity, and strong schools for every child.

Ashley and her husband, Timmy, a U.S. Army veteran now serving in the reserves, moved to Maplewood in 2022 drawn by the town’s diversity, strong schools, and vibrant community spirit. With three young children at Clinton Elementary and in the district’s pre-K program, Ashley is deeply invested in the future of SOMSD for the next 15 years.

Professionally, Ashley serves as Senior Counsel in the Department of Defense’s Labor and Employment Law Department, where she manages complex litigation and provides guidance on harassment, discrimination, union, and labor issues. She brings expertise in negotiation, collaboration, and building consensus across divisions—skills she is eager to apply to the work of the Board of Education.

In the community, Ashley serves as the Community Events Chair of the Clinton Elementary PTA, where she helped lead events like SOMA Swish and the International Festival. She also served on the Board’s Budget Advisory Committee, gaining firsthand insight into the district’s fiscal realities. Ashley is committed to ensuring that budget processes are transparent, accessible to families, and grounded in long-term responsibility.

Ashley is running for the Board of Education to continue a life of service and to advocate for transparency, equity, and collaboration. Guided by the vision of Progress, Partnership, Promise, she is committed to strengthening communication, supporting teachers, and ensuring every student has the resources to succeed.
